Welcome to Crested Sun Labradors! We are a small kennel in NE WA and our dogs are a part of our family.
We are located 20 miles NW of Spokane WA in the beautiful community of Nine Mile Falls. Our property provides ample space for basic training and we have additional access for more in-depth training of the pups. Jonathan grew up in Alaska spending a large amount of time doing outdoor activities. He has had a passion for labs since he was a child and was able to purchase his first pup, a chocolate female named Ruff, in 1988 which set the wheels in motion. After a move to north Idaho a year later he delved into breeding quality dogs with exceptional traits and health clearances over the next 12 years. He was involved in a few NAHRA tests with various dogs and spent tons of time chasing ducks and geese in the fields and marshes around Lake Pend Oreille. When his career took him to Mount Vernon, WA in 2003 raising kids, work responsibilities and family struggles took precedence for several years.
Jonathan and Kris met and got married in 2016 and another career move landed us back in the inland NW with two female labs and an excitement to be back in a rural area where the dogs could enjoy the things they were bred to do. Kris is new to the sporting dog world but has jumped in with both feet and currently serves on the board as the treasurer of our local pointing lab club. We are both involved in training days for the club and also actively campaign in both APLA and HRC tests in addition to hunts for waterfowl and upland birds.
Our goal is to produce well adjusted pups with great health clearances and abilities to perform in the upland field or marsh. We strive for animals with multiple titles in their pedigrees in a variety of venues as proof of their potential.
